About José

José Polanco is recognised by many of his peers as clearly the best dancer of Salsa in London.

He received a degree in folk, all dance movements and choreography after 4 years studying at the Institute Popular of Cultura (IPC), Colombia. He studied for a further 2 years at the Conservatory in Cali, mastering ballroom dance (pasodoble, bolero, fox, and other latin rhythms). José also has a degree in dance and choreography from U.K.A. University, obtained in London in 1999.

José has been teaching dance for about 21 years. Initially in his homeland of Colombia and for the past 18 years in London and Europe, including Spain Italy and Slovenia. He has also taught in St. Lucia, Jaimaica and other parts of the Caribbean.

He has appeared on UK Television and also featured in magazine articles in the UK and abroad. Some of his contracts include bookings with Mr. Motivator at CenterParcs where his classes in salsa and other latin dances have been extremely popular.

In 2005 José was invited to be a delegate at the World Youth Congress in Scotland, representing the Latin American community in the UK.

Some of José's clients have included Derrick Evans (Mr. Motivator), John Thomson and Jacey Salles (Cold Feet) both actors from Granada Television.
