Colombian style is back in the picture and Colombian Salsa Dance Schools like Swing Latino with their current three world titles (Cali, Miami & Las Vegas) are the main reason why the Salsa world are taking them seriously. These guys who have learned their trade in the popular quarters of Cali where Salsa is a way of life, are responsible for the new Colombian style called CALI LA, where Salsa Colombian style has been influenced by LA Cross Body style. As Cali style is danced low on the floor with the fiery, exciting and fast footwork tradionally associated with Cali dancers, this is combined with lots of rhythm - the essence of Salsa, plus some new influences from Cross-Body style, therefore its new name Cali LA.

Salsa luminaries such as Oscar D'Leon, Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Gran Combo and most Puerto Rican Salsa legendary Artists consider Cali, Colombia as the Salsa capital in the world'.
